Interest rates are continuing to increase we believe this will be a gradual increase over several months as the BOE will not want to disrupt manufacturing. However, we do believe the BOE has a very strong resolve to slow the current housing market inflation.

With Easter rapidly approaching we are heading into the traditional house buying season. So, if you are thinking of moving, now is the time to start your search but, remember, if you have a property to sell, get it on the market before you start your search.

There is a much greater degree of optimism within the housing market with house price figures for February from the Halifax, Nationwide, Hometrack and the FT all showing monthly increases ranging from 0.9% through to 3.1%. This leads us to believe the market will continue to increase in price even with a further increase in interest rates.

Interest Rates look set to rise again this week the last rate increase was November last year, in our opinion this will be one of several increases throughout the year. As these increases are likely to be small and gradual through the year, we feel it should not have a dramatic impact on the property market. Only time will tell.
